Remediation

The process of cleaning up PFAS-contaminated soil, groundwater, or other environmental media.

PFAS remediation encompasses technologies to contain, remove, or destroy PFAS in the environment. Current approaches include pump-and-treat for groundwater, soil excavation, high-temperature incineration, and emerging technologies like electrochemical oxidation and supercritical water oxidation. Complete destruction of PFAS remains challenging due to the strength of carbon-fluorine bonds.
